Today we announced our $4 million of seed funding. This investment enables us to accelerate our product development, continuing to build the UK's largest marketplace for homeowners and architects in search of quality general contractors to carry out whole renovation of homes.

Building a marketplace that empowers people to find the right contractor to renovate their home is an ambitious task, but one we have always believed can deliver a lot of value to millions of people across the UK. Right now many barriers exist that make home renovation difficult and time-consuming. The pandemic has exacerbated the potential for change, as an ever greater number of homes need to be remodelled to fit a new work-from-home lifestyle, a need to reduce soaring energy costs and reduce our climate change impact (of which UK homes contribute 40% of all emissions!).
In building our platform for the last few years we have witnessed first hand how both homeowners and architects love having a digital source of contractors, and scaling this service and making it even better is at the core of our mission. We're now focusing on delivering a mobile-first experience as well as a far larger pool of general contractors to better match projects to. Finally, in addition to our marketplace of vetted contractors and tender management platform, we’re focusing on completing the current users’ experience by facilitating on-platform construction contracts and payments that are fast & fully insured.
On a personal note, I'd like to in particular welcome our lead investors btov Partners and the magnificent team that is led by our new board member, Florian. Right from pitch one, the btov team have shown to be exceptionally candid communicators, highly experienced in the challenges tech founders face and super-connectors of European business people. This is a partnership that I'm proud of, and I can't wait to see the fruits of our labour, together.
